The Birthday Post: On Turning 30

I honestly believe that the reason people say, “”Dirty 30” is because when you finally reach thirty you start to let go a little more. You start to dream with wild abandonment. You start to get less scared and more sure of yourself. You start to play again. This is true for me anyway.

There’s no other way around it-29 threw me a major curve ball. I want to say that I managed to knock it out of the park, but that would be a lie. What I can tell you is that everything worked out in the end. I am in a much better place than before.

Walking in Melaka, discovering nooks and crannies, playing on a see saw for the first time, banana leaf curry, malls, jumping on the bed in our hotel. TJ nicknamed Kuala Lumpar “malltastic” and I have no shame in admitting that we spent the majority of our time in KL roaming around air conditioned malls sipping on Starbucks fraps. This was of course after we decided to explore the city by foot but quickly abandoned that plan when we ventured into the “rainforest” and got attacked by mosquitoes.
